Kent Harvest Mouse Survey - Summary report

Friday, 27 November 2020 16:33

Wildwood Trust, working in collaboration with the Kent Mammal Group, has completed Kent Harvest Mouse Survey. This was an exciting Citizen Science Project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Steve Kirk, who led the project, has provided an easy-to-read summary version of the final report, which can be found by following this link: https://wildwoodtrust.org/kent-harvest-mouse-survey-a-hlf-funded-citizen-science-project/

The project was set up to provide an up-to-date survey of Harvest Mouse distribution within Kent and to help understand their true conservation status. The project involved the training of volunteers to provide the background and field skills necessary to go out and survey their local areas for Harvest Mice.

Wildwood Trust, with support from the Kent Mammal Group, will continue to monitor and safeguard the species across the county and there will be further opportunities to be involved in the next phase. So please watch this space.
