Activity Description:

KMG are very pleased to welcome ecologist and author Hugh Warwick to Tyland Barn on Friday 30th September to talk to us about his passion: hedgehogs.

Hugh’s work includes two books about hedgehogs, ‘A Prickly Affair’ and ‘Hedgehog’ (Reaktion Animal Series). He has also authored ‘The Beauty in the Beast’, which took him on a journey in search of other British animals (http://urchin.info/books/).

“Hugh has been a hedgehog obsessive for over twenty years, ever since an expedition to the Orkney Islands in 1986. From radio-tracking hogs in Devon, to working with HogWatch to track the current numbers of hedgehogs in the British Isles, Hugh was also involved in the research which was instrumental in halting the hedgehog cull in the Uists. He makes numerous appearances to talk about hedgehogs, and the British Hedgehog Preservation Society have now made him a trustee and a life-time member in recognition of his contribution” (Penguin Books).

We’d love to see as many KMG members there as possible. If you are able to come along please let Pam Worrall know via email as booking is essential ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Cost = £3
